Hoops for Him: News

There is now a link where you can sign up to 'follow' 614 Restoration/Hoops4Him on Twitter. We want to utilize Twitter for one primary purpose—as a notification tool for game cancellations/delays due to inclement weather.

Here's how it works:
If Hoops4Him games are canceled/delayed, the Hoops4Him League Director will sign-in to Twitter and type a short, simple text message such as "All Hoops4Him games are cancelled today due to snow." With the press of a button, this text message will automatically be sent to every person who has signed up to follow 614 Restoration/Hoops4Him. Soooo...here's how you sign up.

When you first click on the Twitter link, you will be led through a very short sign-up process and taken to your Twitter 'Home' page.
You are not done! In order to receive game cancellation/delay notifications as a text message on your mobile device, you must add your phone number to your Twitter account. Here's how...
In the upper right hand navigation bar, click 'Settings'
Click on the 'Devices' tab (third one from the left)
Add your phone number
Wait for the verification code to pop up
Using your mobile device, text the verification code to Twitter using the following number—40404
If you refresh the page and your code is gone, your phone is verified.
VERY IMPORTANT!! To get 'tweets' (text messages) from 614 Restoration about Hoops4Him game delays/cancellations, go to the 614 Restoration Profile page by clicking on the 614 Restoration icon under 'following'. You should see a drop-down box. Turn 'Device updates' ON.
Congratulations! You are now officially 'cool'; and more importantly, you will now receive instant notification of any Hoops4Him game cancellations/delays.
